Yeah, I'd say too many HD texture mods. Left 4 Dead is a 32 bit application, so is very limited on memory usage (About 2gigs, 3 if you push it). Ramming it with lots of 4k textures on everything is gonna crash it. I'd start with the "L4D2 Remastered", and then some of the reborn mods ( you don't really need the laser one, its a stupid file size

So I've been playing L4D2 for a while now and I have a ton of mods. There a certain custom maps that just audio crash when I load into them. Some of which include. Urban flight. back to school. Lockdown. Chernobyl Chapter 1. There are more but I forgot the other major ones.

The hordes increase in duration, intensity, and frequency. 2,000 kills total in one chapter is common; I've gotten 1500+ kills just for myself in one chapter once. Campaign totals increased quite a bit for regular maps, custom maps there's much more- most I've gotten was 21,000+, a friend says he got over 24,000 total at the most.
