AAT = Adaptive Automatic Transmission. IRL you can change these modes on the fly on almost every truck that has it. Why should I have to exit my drive just to go to the controls menu to change this setting when I need to? AAT was added to the game YEARS ago. I cannot for the life of me figure why they have not thought of this yet. Anyone agree?
Step 1: The first time you load into the game every time the gearbox is going to be set to low range and the splitter will be in low. So if you put it into whatever gear position is gear 1 it will be gear 1L (depending on transmission of course). Step 2: Press your clutch in and put your shifter where first gear is.Basicly eco mode is what the trucks drive in now in the sim. In real life you have a button that puts it powermode. What it does is that the gearbox will try to keep enginge revs where the enginge has most horsepower. If I remember correctly, for example the Volvo engines peaks around 1700 RPM, so the gearbox will try to find a gear here.

will the devs let the automatic transmission setting ever consider shifting up to 12th gear when going in a straight line without changing speed? it only cares about shifting up when reaching 1500 rpm or shifting down when it goes below 1000 rpm or when flooring it. this is not very fuel efficient. most of the time it will be in 11th gear at 80 km/h at 1400 rpm or something. i think irl it2. The gearbox has 18 speed and 2 crawler gears, shifts rapidly. but basically it tweak dependence curve between throttle pedal and ratio between torque and power the transmission prefers. eco mode is mostly torque oriented (faster upshifts, keeps lower rpm) while power mode is more power oriented (slower upshift, keeps higher rpm). and kickdown in all cases.
